Waterworks: The Kids Are All Grown Up
Custom typography meets the need to fill up nursery walls.
I am a proud aunt to twin boys, and I wanted to make something to put in their nursery. When I started the project, they were infants. When I finally got to the point of rendering the letter forms, they were a whopping eight months. What were once irridescent bubble letters turned became waterworks. Or should I say waterwords! I love how this project respresents a sentimental moment, but it also represents something that is central to successful creative strategies—which is not to over strategize!
This is an ethic that I do my best to never lose grips with. Any element of a project or program can change. Usually, that change demands urgency and responsiveness. I am a strong manager, highly adaptable, and maintain and glass-half full attitude when solutioning. Most importantly, I take every opportunity to reflect on my approach and optimize as needed.
